Dancing with the Stars
Dancing with the Stars is a ballroom dancing reality TV show where celebrities are paired with professional dancers and compete to win the title of Dancing with the Stars Champion. The show airs in the U.S. and is based on the British television show Strictly Come Dancing, which began on May 15, 2004.
The first season of the U.S. version of this show premiered June 1, 2005 as part of ABC's summer line-up. After a wildly succesful first season, ABC started the second season on January 5, 2006. The third, and most recent, season concluded in November of 2006 (the first episode aired on September 12, 2006). A fourth season is planned and will likely air starting in March 2007. The show--and ballroom dancing--continue to climb in popularity.
